As you all know, I have been planning on having another give-away for quite a while now, but I wanted to wait for a special occasion… So here it is, for all those soon to be mommies, new mommies, or more experienced mommies… this is your time to get pampered by me. So once again, I'm giving away some of my babies!
This time there will be 6 lucky winners and each will get 40 (forty) 6 1/2" squares in an assortment of all my collections, just to play and have pure fun…
So here's the deal, just share with me and other readers…
WHAT WOULD BE THE PERFECT MOTHER'S DAY FOR YOU?
I am pretty sure you all have wonderful plans.
So I guess you are wondering, who wins? Oh well, since I struggled sooo much choosing the winners for my last give-away, I'm leaving it to chance (and I'm sure this will not be any different- you have so many great stories!!!). I will choose six RANDOM winners, so…. GOOD LUCK!
You have until MOTHER'S DAY (Sunday May 10th) midnight to post your comment…. Meanwhile, I will be getting your fabric squares ready (that together with a trillion other things I have to do for Quilt Market!). Be sure to include your e-mail address to contact you…
I have a lot more coming up, so don't forget to subscribe (if you are not family yet, of course) to get a jump on future give-aways and much more.
By the way, stay tuned for the third sneak peak. The name? SPELLBOUND.
Handmade rocks… So let's keep on stitching!
Patricia

I’m expecting my first baby, and for this mother’s day I am hoping to spend the day with my husband preparing for our little one. My husband is refinishing a tiny rocking chair we got at a yard sale, and I am knitting some cute baby clothes. The perfect mother’s day for me – spending it with my growing family.

My perfect Mother’s Day would be a nice bike ride followed by the whole family together for a cookout in the back yard. The weather, of course, would be sunny and 70’s!

A perfect (and probably not realistic) Mother’s Day for me would be sleeping in, waking up to breakfast made by the kids and their dad, and spending the day either in jammies, playing around with the family, or at the beach .

My perfect Mother’s Day would be to have both our boys with us to attend Sunday Mass. Everyone together for a late brunch. Sewing all afternoon. Bar-b-que and visiting on our screened-in porch for dinner.
Good luck preparing for Market!

Well, the perfect Mother’s Day for me would be one that we could spend with my mom as well as my sister and her kids. I live far away from them and I miss them so much! We’re from New Orleans, so walking around the French Quarter and going to the Audobon Zoo would be perfect!

The perfect Mother’s day would be to wake up in the morning and find that the house was magically cleaned overnight. Then smiles on the faces of my kids as they tended to my every whim.

Ok, perfect Mother’s day? First, I would get to sleep in until I woke up on my own. Then, I’d get chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, green smoothie and veggie eggs in bed :)
I wouldn’t have to change a diaper all day, my hubby would get the kids dressed for Church and they would act like the angels that they aren’t while we are there ;) They also would not fight or whine all day long.
When we get home, hubby would make me a delicious dinner (I’m not sure what yet, but something yummy) and lemon pound cake with strawberries for dessert (I love strawberries).
The day would end with me swinging on the porch swing I’ve been dreaming about for years while watching my children play in the front yard. That would be a perfect day.

I’m not a mum myself but I would love to take my mum about Toronto and have a smashing time looking at stores and eating cupcakes. She’s had a tough year with losing her mum (and my grandmum) so I think this would be a nice change of pace.

I’ll go the selfish route. I’d love a day of peace and quiet. Not that I don’t love my little ones and husband! Now that I am mother and wife it seems like every breath I take is accompanied by wants and needs and demands and laundry and dishes…
I would like a day in a hammock under huge trees and sunshine with a good book and a cup of tea.
Then the next day I could jump back into my life refreshed…

I come from a very large family. My mother is 85 and had 9 children! So my idea of a fabulous mother’s day is to go to her home with my children and grandchildren and all of my siblings do the same and then all of us who are mothers just sit outside and with our feet up while our sons, husbands and brothers wait on us and cook the food!
That is quite the feat since there are 48 of us now! It is a grand day!

My perfect Mother’s Day would involve sleeping in, working on some projects, maybe some baking, but definitely no doing dishes or cleaning the house. But someone has to do those for me, because I don’t want to do dishes or clean up the day after Mother’s Day either!! That would kind of spoil the fun!

Hello Patricia,
Right when I read about your give away I started thinking of what my husband and three children could do to make Mother’s Day perfect. I am an avid sewer, quilter, and all around craft lover. I then realized where the majority of my knowlege came from, my mom. She was killed a year ago this last December by being struck by a car while she was crossing the street. She was 73 yrs old and unable to drive safely herself. The day she died she and my youngest daughter and I went to go run errands. I was going in to have back surgery the following day so we needed to get all of her needs taked care of. We had an absolutly fantastic day. After I dropped her off at home she left on foot a few hours later. She was going out to buy me a book and get well card. On her way home she was killed. I know that her last thoughts were of me. The police asked if I would like her belongings when I went to the scene of the accident. That is when I found the shopping bag with her little gifts for me in it. When she had gotten out of the car earlier that day my daughter was switching seats with her, she gave her grandma a kiss and the last thing she said to her was “Grandma you have the softest cheeks” I know that I couldn’t have asked for a better last day with her but, my heart still aches for her. So, my perfect Mother’s Day would be to spend it with her. Her name was Ruby Clarkson and you couldn’t have asked for a better mom. Thank you for this opportunity to share my story with you, although I’m sitting here crying while I write it, it helps me to be thankful and to continue healing from the worst loss of my life so far.
Sincerely,
Juletta Stratton

Hmm, the perfect Mother’s Day would include lots of cuddling, relief from some of the constant Mama duties. (Mama, I needs some milk. Mama, I need a potty. Mama, I’m hungry. Mama, she hit me!)
I’d love a bit of sewing time, too, but I’ll be out of town this Mother’s Day. Perhaps a promise of some free time for sewing when we get home. :-)

I think my best day would be to have no expectations and enjoy the day with who ever I am with. I am the only one that sews and crafts and I do it for all of them.
I think I might just like a day to make myself something. Thank you for the chance at the give-away.

My perfect Mother’s day would be a day with both my mother and my daughter. Taking a bike ride downtown to a local pastry house for a good cup of java and a spinach quiche. Afterwords we would spend a quiet hour or two pouring over craft books at the used bookstore, then moving on to find magical treasures at antique and thrift stores. Finish it off with a late lunch, followed by a cup of tea and some cookies, and then laughing about our day while taking the long way home through the park.

My perfect Mother’s Day would be to have my family together at home. I hope that my four year old is released from the hospital before Mother’s Day. We’ve already been here a month (come this Sunday), today is her brother’s birthday and Tuesday is her Dad’s birthday. We were here over Easter as well. To be able to take her back home means she’s healed enough to be deemed healthy until the next round of chemo begins. :-) Sometimes, leukemia really stinks.

A perfect Mother’s Day? Well, part of me immediately and wistfully imagines a luxuriously indulgent day free of diapers, runny noses and pigtail-pulling screams. I envision nursing a cup of tea while sewing and painting and reading in the blessed silence. How enjoyable it would be to have a day without a single other person demanding something from you? And then I realize just how much I would miss their adorable voices and slobbery widemouth bass baby kisses. I think of how empty my house would feel without the slapping of bare toddler feet on the floor. I would miss my little boy’s baby chimpanzee walk and dimpled near-toothless grin and my little girl’s swinging crooked pigtails and big brown eyes. So while I may dream of silence and selfindulgence, I think it wouldn’t be as wonderful as I imagine. In the end, I suppose my perfect Mother’s Day would simply be having my kids to spend a carefree day all together at home…. though it might be nice if my husband would make dinner.

My perfect mother’s day would be sleeping in until 9 and waking up to my daughter being next to me still sleeping at 9! But because that won’t happen I think it would perfect to get a card from my 5 year old that said “I love mom” with her drawing of us holding hands and of course her hand picked flowers. Thanks for the chance to win fabulous fabric!
