Tapestry Fabrics by Sharon Holland: A Timeless Collection

Hello everyone!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day so far! Let me tell you, things get more and more exciting by the day here at the AGF HQ. If you haven’t seen the latest happenings yet, here’s a little update:  we introduced two new contributors to the blog, Caro and Ola, we took you back to Spring Quilt Market with our recaps, and now we get to release one of the new collections of the season!

Today, the spotlight is on Sharon Holland’s new collection, Tapestry. This lovely collection has a well balanced mix of multicultural-inspired motifs and traditional elements that will make any project timeless. Oh, and the colors are so rich! The combinations of soft blues, peaches, and neutrals are just perfect for spring, summer, fall, or whenever!

I really like this fabric collection because I think Sharon appropriated ethnic elements beautifully. She made them simple and classic, while keeping their unique cultural aesthetic. Some of my favorite prints in Tapestry are Mudcloth Blue, Destination Flock, and Tracery shadow because they are simple and modern, yet artistic.

Loving all of the soft hues of Tapestry fabrics! No doubt, I’m destined to make the Destination Quilt first. The Cat quilt will be fun to make for my cat loving son. Keep up the great sewing ideas, they’re very inspiring!

I have a couple of grand babies who would look gorgeous in some dresses made up in the floral patterns. Love the mud cloth and catalyst designs, and that orange peel runner would look great on my dining room table. Beautiful collection with so many ideas for it…

I usually find it difficult to decide for a favorite in those lookbooks, because everything looks great. However, this time when I saw the cat quilt I knew that that’s what I want to make (even though I’m more of a dog person really).

Wow I love every single print in Tapestry, especially Stitchery, and Mudcloth in blue and tanger.
Pillows are in need of a facelift in my living room..so I love to make “Based on Destination ” pillows, multiple Pixie baskets for each room, and the “About the Cat” wall hanging or table topper.
Clothing too, the Macramé racerback is perfect for a humid summer we’re experiencing already. Thank you.

I’d start by making myself more pixie baskets to use around the house for everything from soup to nuts (soup might make them a bit soggy). I’d like to try some garment sewing with one of the knits, and, of course, I’d have to make a quilt. Whether it would be Destination or another pattern I don’t know yet.
