Sewing for the Nursery- Hideaway Quilt Kit at Fat Quarter Shop

Hi everyone,

What are your favorite things to sew? On the top of my list is quilts, especially baby quilts! With all my friends and siblings having kids I have been having fun making baby shower presents with AGF's newest fabric collection called Nest! If your a quilter like me you are going to flip over the cute panel prints in this collection. The sweet sayings and imagery reminiscent of childhood come together in modern designs. My favorite panel in the collection is called "Make a Wish", the possibilities are endless with this panel because it is has six different graphics and background you can choose to use to make kids clothes, pillows, or incorporate as big blocks in your quilts!

The Hideaway Quilt does just that, a mix of fussy cut squares, and easy plus and x pieced blocks with white border strips to let each block stand out. It measures out to be 58 1/2" squared, just the right size for the little ones in your life!  To shop the Hideaway Quilt kit head over to Fat Quarter Shop! Don't forget to show us your projects made with Nest fabrics using the hashtag #NESTISOUT

I make lots of Huggables. They are “animal heads” like bears, elephants, cats, dogs etc. Then 3/4 yard soft fabric with satin binding.

Yes, now I want some of this fabric. I think Webfabrics and Purcelleville is carrying your collection.
This quilt and these projects are just adorable Meli. Thank you so much for sharing this inspiration
For many baby shower, I have made cute bunting for the table or hanging over the momma’s chair. I think bunting made with some of these pieces would be adorable too

    OH! one more thing.
    I love the youtube tutorials!!
I would LOVE it if you could …. maybe, please…. provide a pdf printable pattern for each block. That way I can start a little notebook of your adorable blocks. I love the videos but sometimes I do not have time to watch them….
Many thanks for all of your efforts

Because these blocks are pretty big, I think they would work perfectly with my Easy DIY Burp Cloths as a great baby shower gift: http://www.thelostapron.com/easy-diy-burp-cloths.html

Hi Christi! I always wanted to make some of those! Do use a particular pattern or do you just sketch out the pattern yourself. I would love to see your work. :)

Hi Rosemary. I love bunting! It so fun and quick to make and then after the baby shower you can hang it in baby’s room as decoration. Congrats on your third grand daughter! I see a lot of baby sewing in your new future. 😍

I must say, as a lot as I enjoyed reading what you had to say, I couldnt help but lose interest after a while. Its as if you had a wonderful grasp on the subject matter, but you forgot to include your readers. Perhaps you should think about this from far more than one angle. Or maybe you shouldnt generalise so considerably. Its better if you think about what others may have to say instead of just going for a gut reaction to the subject. Think about adjusting your own believed process and giving others who may read this the benefit of the doubt.
