Strips are Boring.

NOOOOT! Or so I think…

There's a common belief that there's only so much you can do with strips… But that's SO not true! There are zillions of things you can create, the key is to play with different fabrics, colors, and settings (yes, SETTINGS). You wouldn't believe the difference they can make)

Let me show you some examples so you can see what I mean:

This is a table runner made with a whole bunch of blueish fabrics, in straight setting. Play with different widths and lengths, and throw some solids into the mix! The channel quilting adds a lot to it, too.

And here we have a cool placemat made with a 45 degree setting… what do you think about the solid yo-yos on the corners? I think they make the whole thing look a lot more interesting with almost no extra effort.

Finally, another table runner, this time made with a 60 degree setting (there are many rulers that can do the job) and a braided detail with matching solid colors, with a more earthy mood…

See? It's amazing how many different looks you can create with dear ol' strips. So dig into your stash and let the sewing begin!

I love to play with fabrics! Do you?

Love,

Pat.

I love the way you have put those fabrics together, especially the blue table runner. You have inspired me to have a go!
