And the family gets bigger…

Last June I went through one of the toughest, most painful moments I ever had to go through in my entire life. My baby Sheebo had to part. I felt like I would never be able to smile again, at least for a long time. The mere thought of bringing another dog to the family was unconceivable…

But along came Lucas.

Lucas2
(here modeling a fabric bow made with the Coquette collection)

Don't you just wanna grab him and squeeze him?

The unbelievable part of the story is that, when I went to the shelter (trying to not fall in love with the impossibly cute faces staring from their cages), the lady that worked there told me somebody had left Lucas ON THE ROAD!!!! She said that a car stopped at a traffic light. Inside the car were a woman with two kids. This woman came out of the car and went back to open the trunk. She took a puppy and left him on the street. As soon as it turned out green again, she accelerated. The car behind her almost hit him!

Can you believe that? I mean, who would actually be capable of taking this and dumping it on the side of the road like a garbage bag??

Lucas

He's a gorgeous American Cocker Spaniel and he's here to stay. (It's been quite a long time since I last had to decorate the house with puppy diapers but I don't mind)

Welcome to the family Lucas! You're in for a ride =)

Love,

Pat

He is gorgeous! Can’t believe someone would do that, if you can’t care for an animal surely its best to take them to an animal shelter! I’m sure he will be very happy with his new family.

Congrats on your new addition. Our last puppy was a stray that the breeder kicked to the curb. Being a runt female, she was no good for them.
She has been a wonderful, yet crazy, addition to our family.

Unbelievable and it makes me worry about the kids she had in her car. My beautiful Maya was part of a litter that was dumped on the side of the highway. Congratulations on your addition, he does make me want to cuddle him.

He looks just like my oliver…who was the runt of a litter of puppies…the litter was born and the family had a death in the family so the tails never got docked. He looks so cute with a long tail..lol
Good luck..they are sweet dogs even if they do have a penchant for peeing all over when they get excited.

I had a cocker spaniel eons ago! They are the best dogs ever, very cute and loyal. Now I have a Boston Terrier and they are the best dogs ever! As you can see I love dogs and I don’t understand how this horrible things happens. Enjoy the new member of your family!

What a wonderful find! My pup too was a castoff. She was only 10 months old and a gorgeous black and white pomchi. Now 5 years later she’s diva of the house here, and we just love it!
    Enjoy Lucas! ;)

He is adorable, and I know he has found a wonderful home. I don’t understand people like that! If you can’t keep him take him to a shelter but to leave him in middle of road is a crime as far as I am concerned.

Bless you Pat for opening your heart and home to such an adorable little guy. I had a cocker once, Lucky, kind of got him the way you did, from a shelter, and he was the best happy little blonde dog I ever had! Many happy and wonderful years with him.
