Art Gallery Fabrics is proud to present one of the most fun and unique challenges of the summer!!

We have joined together with sponsors Angela Walters, Aurifil, Craftsy and Quilters Dream Batting  to bring you the "Make It Right Challenge." This challenge is all about inspiring a creative process that makes you think outside the box.

Now you may think "Different how?"

Well, the way this challenge works is quite different. First off the public will pick the winner. So you know you have to put forth your best effort into the projects and its presentation. Secondly you must use every inch of the Right Angles panel –leave no scrap behind! Lastly be creative and don’t be afraid of color.

Create your best project and win CASH PRIZES as well as SWAG BASKETS filled with goodies from AGF and our sponsors!! 

 Now for the nitty-gritty (you know, the how-to’s, why’s and how’s of it all)

To Enter

To enter, you must submit the following:

  1.  (1)
    Make It Right OFFICIAL Challenge Form per project
  2.  (1) Picture of materials used per project
  3.  (1) Picture of completed project

All entries must be emailed to contests@artgalleryfabrics.com by midnight on June 6th. Public voting will commence on June 7th and will continue until 27th. Winners will be announced July 1st.

Prizes & Superlatives

There will be a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place chosen through People's Choice.

        1st place – $500 plus a swag basket filled with goodies from our sponsors

        2nd place – $300 plus a swag basket filled with goodies from our sponsors

        3rd place – $200 plus a swag basket filled with goodies from our sponsors

    Superlatives:

            1.  Most creative
            2.  Best use of color
            3.  Best technique
            4.  Most creative use of thread
            5.  Most functional

* All superlative winners will win a swag basket filled with goodies from Art Gallery Fabrics and all of our lovely sponsors.

*Filler: Any use of a secondary fabric as background, sashing, border, binding, etc.

 *Original works: we mean that you created it and sewed it. You may use
published  patterns BUT we encourage you to make it your own (i.e. –
modify it)

    Hello all
    There is a discrepancy in the due dates on the Rules & FAQ sheet. Due date is June 6TH. Voting starts June 7th and ends June 27th. Winner is announced July 1st.
    We will fix the sheet and upload it tomorrow. We apologize for this error.

    For those of us a little new to quilting and the terminology…. (me…:-) ) can you please clarify what is meant by ‘filler’ with the Pure Elements please? Is that like sashing, background fabric ??? Or something else entirely different?? Apologies for my ignorance in this area… Great challenge!! And a great opportunity to try something …. Outside the Square… :-)

    Filler will be any fabric that is used as a background, binding, sashing, etc. It would be any secondary fabric used.

    Hi, just for clarification, am I correct in thinking that “original works” means NOT using any published pattern, and that you have to submit an entry of an original to you design?

    I’m glad it is open to international entries, but this is a very tight turn around when you have to wait at least 2 weeks for the fabrics to arrive when you ship them internationally. Fingers crossed it’s only 2 weeks ;)

    Oh yeah! I’d not factored the delivery times in – eek! I really want to enter, but want clarification on exactly what is meant by ‘original works’ before I order the quantities I need because shipping costs are so high :-\

    You can use a pattern but we encourage you to make it your own. The challenge is looking to inspire “what you would do”

    You have until June 6th. Roughly 6 1/2 weeks to complete that challenge.
    Please check your International stores as they may carry the panel already.

    Sarah.. we mean that you make it yours. You must be the creator and sewer. We do allow patterns BUT we encourage you to make it yours.
    Pretty much you can’t design the project and have someone else execute it.

    So you can’t use any other coordinating fabrics except Pure Elements?

    You can only use Pure Elements (solids) and the Right Angles panel for this challenge.

    How do we know if an entry has been received? Will an email confirmation be sent, or do we have to wait until the entries are posted. Just wanted to make sure the entry I sent was received and is not lost in cyberspace somewhere. Thanks!

    There is no supplier of Aurofil thread in my area. Is it absolutely necessary to use Aurofil?
