Step 2:

Once the top is complete, lay it flat and right side up on top of the backing fabric. Smooth out any wrinkles and pin the two pieces together.

Step 3:

Sew the two layers together using a straight or decorative stitch across the blanket, removing all of your pins as you go.

Step 4:

Lay the blanket right-side up and fold over the overlapping backside to create your binding which will be about .5”. Pin as you go.

Step 5:

Beginning at one corner, sew a decorative stitch all the way around your blanket, tucking in any raw edges.

I would choose Picnic in the Hills. It was a hard choice I really do love them both! I’d like to try a king quilt for a bed. Or some Anthropologie like pillows with ball fringe. I have some orange ball fringe that would probably look great with these fabrics. Thanks for the chance to win! shopgirl7232(at)yahoo(dot)com

Right now I’m collecting just the right solids to make a mixed size HST quilt out of Meadow. It’s my favorite fabric line to date and I bought some of each print right when it came out (thank you LD) – if I had to pick, today I’d say that Picnic by the River would be my choice, but really, I love them both.

Thanks for the giveaway! I would choose Picnic in the Hills. I didn’t see the piecing instructions for the blanket top listed above. After the cutting dimensions, step 1 says to sew the blanket top together, but it doesn’t say how. Also, I don’t see a picture of the full top, so I can’t figure out what goes where. Can you please add piecing instructions or a diagram maybe? Thanks!

I love Picnic by the River! I bought a little of each fabric when it came out and I sometimes just stare at them I love them that much. I would make a quilt for my mom because I’m started a tradition last year of making her a quilt every Christmas. And to be finished I have to start in June which requires a lot of motivation! But these fabrics are the most motivating because I know anything made with them with will be beautiful!
