Have you been keeping up with your to sew list for 2016? Well I think I might have another "must add" to your project list! It's called the Velocity bag which you might have all seen featured in the AvantGarde Fabric Project Catalog.

 I first made this bag with our new textured denims for International Quilt Market in Houston last October! It was constructed a little different when I made it with AvantGarde fabrics. In the Velocity Bag PDF pattern there are three pattern pieces that make up the bag, in the textured denim bag there were four pattern pieces. I wanted to show case all the amazing solid textured denims in this bag to show how beautifully they look together. We offer four solid textured denims that are perfect weight for handbags as well has other projects that call for sturdier fabrics such as jackets, upholstery, rugs, and many home decor accessories but the possibilities are endless.   

 To make the denim Velocity bag version all you need to do is take pattern 3 and tape it following Diagram 1 and add 1/2" seam allowance as indicated. (Diagram 1)

Now you have four pattern pieces to use all of the solid texture denims. This bag is so chic and stylish but best of all is roomy enough to fit everything you will need for the day!
