Stash Builder Box: A Subscription with a Good Cause

Hi wonderful fabric collectors!

I don’t know about you, but I love receiving packages! Even if I know what I purchased, there’s something so exciting about coming home from the AGF HQ and seeing a box waiting for me at the door. For all of you fabric lovers out there, imagine receiving happy mail with not just fabrics but also fun sewing related products! I know it sounds like a dream!

This dream can come true with the Stash Builder Box, a subscription service where every month you receive a box with a few specially curated fabric prints, notions, and other sewing related goodies. The best part of this new service is that 20% of all the proceeds from every single box sale goes towards making quilts for kids in need.  What can be better than replenishing your stash for a great cause?

Plus, you choose the fabrics you’ll receive! Every month, Stash Builder Box hosts a voting session on their Instagram where you get to choose two of the main prints that will be in your box. So this means, you get to choose your favorite fabrics, get cool stuff in the mail, and help children in need!

And guess what? The July box is dedicated to Boardwalk Delight by Dana Willard!

P.S. Here’s a little insight from the founder, Amanda Kelly on how Stash Builder Box was born:

“Stash Builder Box is a monthly quilting box that came to be in January of 2016 after I was doing research for my husband about starting a subscription box for his company. After doing the research for my husband’s box, his idea didn’t end up working out but it got the wheels turning for me. I really had a desire to combine my love of quilting with my heart to serve and help others. I had this crazy idea to make a box of quilting goodies but also have an underlying cause to bless people”.

I ‘ve been trying to participate monthly in the Covered In Love quilt drive by Kat, a nurse, of katandcatquilts.blogspot.com. She plans a different wish list for each month and gives us colors, tutorials or instructions for a specific block theme. She uses our blocks to make gorgeous quilts for terminal patients at her hospital. (CoveredinLoveTx@gmail.com if you want more info).

Last year I pieced 75 quilt tops which were then finished by women from my church. Along with my 75, we also finished 50 more quilts. These were donated to LWR and most of them went to Syrian refugees who had been displaced from their country.
I love sewing for those in need. In fact, that is the majority of the sewing I do!
This box would be a good starter to get another sewist to start sewing for charity!

I’ve been sewing heart blocks for Pulse quilts. I’m also almost done with a charity top for Stash Builders charity quilt program. As soon as it’s done, I’ll ask for fabric to make another. While I can’t really afford the boxes, I can afford the time to sew for their charity program.

I have signed up to make quilt tops for Stash Builders & those cute FQ’s would help make a quilt top to donate back to them. I recently donated 20 quilts to H2H & have also donated to other chemo centers in my area. I think giving to others is my absolute favorite thing to do!

I would love to win this because it’s always difficult for us Europeans to get our hands on any Stash Boxes because shipping is out of the world.
We regularly donate clothes to charity and I have joined several things to sew for, Quilts for Pulse being the latest. Many thanks for the chance to win!

    Hello,
I like the fabric so much and I would like to sew with Aurifil thread for the first time in my life. There is such a big hype about it but you nearly don’t get it in Germany. Last month I sewed a charity quilt for a refugee family I met during my German lessons for refugees. They are a beautiful family and they got their second Baby. So I did a baby Quilt for them.
    Have a nice day

Let’s face it, who wouldn’t love to win this stash box. I am loving the grey quilt it is beautiful, along with everything else in that scrumptious box of goodies. I have quilted for quilts of valor and made bags for walkers through my quilt quild, and truthfully I haven’t done anything that’s extraordinary. But, how wonderful is it that part of the proceeds goes to help others. I just truly wish more was done for all Americans in need.

We also are very active in the kennel quilt mailings to different Humane Societies across the country, to date we have sent out 502. This box would be a great help to support our donations.

I LOVE this and Stash Builder! So what I’ve done….I’ve walked in 7 Breast Cancer 3 Days (60 miles in 3 days) and with that, have raised over $50K for the organization (I raised my money, plus those walking with me on my team). I LOVE Compassion International and Blood:Water Mission and go on trips with them each year, come home and go on the radio with my honey and talk about each of these great organizations for a week and help inspire listeners to sponsor children (Compassion…we sponsor 4 ourselves and have been blessed to meet all of them! ) and give money to help build wells and provide HIV meds throughout different countries in Africa (Blood:Water). All in all…I LOVE doing each and every one of those things, regardless of a prize. :) (But prizes are always awesome too!) Thanks for the chance.

This is such a great idea. I love that these boxes give us a chance to give back. I have made quilts that I have given away, and I hope to do more in the future. My husband and I have donated cars to foundations, which has been helpful and appreciated, but maybe not as rewarding as making something with my own hands for someone to use and love. Thanks for the giveaway!

My guild makes quilts for different charities. Some of the charities we’ve given quilts to include the fire department, the police department, the women’s domestic violence crisis line, and our local hospital. At our last guild meeting we made port pillows for cancer patients ( to protect their ports from the seatbelt when riding in a car). I’d like to win the stash box because it’s awesome. I bought one last month and loved it.

I piece and long arm quilt baby quilts and lap robes for our county’s baby/foster care program. The lap quilts I make go to the children of yesteryear. Many of our area nursing homes have patients that are dropped and then seldom, or never, see family again. These lap quilts bring a little joy to their days, knowing someone cares.

The last fabric/sewing charity was to donate towels and quilted fabric for crate liners for the local low cost spay/neuter clinic. Other charity lately is donating regularly to our local food pantry, working in the homeless shelter and collecting school supplies for needy kids during the end of summer drive in our local community.
