Stash Builder Box: A Subscription with a Good Cause

Hi wonderful fabric collectors!

I don’t know about you, but I love receiving packages! Even if I know what I purchased, there’s something so exciting about coming home from the AGF HQ and seeing a box waiting for me at the door. For all of you fabric lovers out there, imagine receiving happy mail with not just fabrics but also fun sewing related products! I know it sounds like a dream!

This dream can come true with the Stash Builder Box, a subscription service where every month you receive a box with a few specially curated fabric prints, notions, and other sewing related goodies. The best part of this new service is that 20% of all the proceeds from every single box sale goes towards making quilts for kids in need.  What can be better than replenishing your stash for a great cause?

Plus, you choose the fabrics you’ll receive! Every month, Stash Builder Box hosts a voting session on their Instagram where you get to choose two of the main prints that will be in your box. So this means, you get to choose your favorite fabrics, get cool stuff in the mail, and help children in need!

And guess what? The July box is dedicated to Boardwalk Delight by Dana Willard!

P.S. Here’s a little insight from the founder, Amanda Kelly on how Stash Builder Box was born:

“Stash Builder Box is a monthly quilting box that came to be in January of 2016 after I was doing research for my husband about starting a subscription box for his company. After doing the research for my husband’s box, his idea didn’t end up working out but it got the wheels turning for me. I really had a desire to combine my love of quilting with my heart to serve and help others. I had this crazy idea to make a box of quilting goodies but also have an underlying cause to bless people”.

I would like to win because I think the fabric with “eat it all” would be perfect to make a bib for my newest granddaughter. Our local quilt guild is working with the local rotary to make sure every Beds For Kids that is delivered has a handmade quilt to match the new owner’s wishes.

I just finished a batch of dresses for dress a girl! Within the last few months I did a big donation of handmade dog & cat toys to Animal Care Centers of NYC too! Currently working on some quilts for Quilts for Kids. 2016 is a charity crafting year for me :)

I participate in an online group who sew quilts for several different charities each year, nominated by the members, and an ongoing mission to sew quilts for our Wounded Warriors and Veterans all year long. Most recently, I completed two quilts for a children’s hospital as my contribution, adding to the other member’s donations. I would happily use the AGF in part for my next quilt donation. It would let a child in an abuse shelter, foster home, or hospital, understand someone cares for them and hopefully, bring them a small comfort. Thanks for the opportunity to win the Stash Builder Box.

I would love to win this Stash Box full of goodies and beautiful fabrics.
I love that charities benefit from the boxes.
I sew year round for a local charity called “Stitches of Love” in Phoenix, Arizona. We sew new outfits for underprivileged local children. We clothe 5,000 children each year before school starts. When we distribute the clothes (they get to pick out what they like) the children are so appreciative and grateful.
I love sewing for this organization!

Dana Willard’s Boardwalk Delight was one of my two purchases at Sample Spree at Quilt Market! Her line has a delightful personality and sense of fun. ::: I’ve made quilt blocks for #QuiltsForPulse and for blocks destined for veterans. :)

I love the philosophy behind Stash Builder Box. I made a quilt top for them a month or so ago out of fabric that they supplied to me. I would do as many more as they needed because they are doing such good work. Most of my sewing is for charity it seems. I have been working with do.good stitches for a couple of years and look forward every month to the new block that will be made and stitched together with other quilters’ blocks to make a quilt for someone who needs to know they are loved. Most likely, the fabric from this box would be used to stitch a quilt to give to charity. Thank you for the opportunity.

Being retired has blessed with me with some extra time besides what I get to spend with/for GRANDS. One of my ministries the last several years has been making dresses to go to Zambia with folks from our son’s congregation. This year the group hubby goes to Ghana with has started taking dresses…can’t stop one work for another, just get to better spend my time so there can be two works at the same time. My tv time is spent knitting/crocheting afghans for our homeless ministry. Tendinitis has hampered that but I may just make scrap blankets instead…I have plenty of scrapes. So, I would put anything in a stashbuster box to good use. :>)

I have such a hard time picking fabric because for me it’s just too overwhelming with all the cute options. A subscription box would be great for me to get inspired and help me getting to know fabric types and what works with what. I want to start projects but I didn’t order any fabric yet because it’s so hard to choose! I would love to win the box :)

Id love to win this box to try out that gorgeous quilt pattern. Every year my kids school runs mission trips to India and Vanuatu so there is a lot of prep involved in that from fundraising to care packages.

Oh my, I’ve been wanting to get a SBB since I discovered them a few months ago, but it hasn’t been in the budget…yet!
Currently I’m working as costume designer for a charitable group putting on the short play “The Amish Project”. Many actors in the play are homeless and the proceeds from the play are going to the group that provides meals and storage lockers for homeless people in our area.

Ice cream is my favorite special treat, so that fabric is particularly awesome! And I have fantastic memories of going to the boardwalk with my extended family in the summer. I am an active member of my local chapter of Project Linus, which makes quilts for kids from birth to 18, and have donated 25 quilts to date. Our chapter has a list of 50 organizations in a 5-county area that our quilts go to. I think that the Stash Builder Box is an awesome idea, and I love that they are dedicated to giving quilts to kids.
