Fabric Christmas tree – fun no-sew tutorial

Hello Dear makers,

You can never have too much Christmas decorations, right? That's what is special about this time of the year: the more decor, the better. Today I have a great no-sew tutorial for you which is really fun to make. It's a no- sew fabric Christmas tree that you can make with fabric scraps.

Once I saw the Blithe Collection by Katarina Roccella I new that I had to make a Christmas project with it. The prints are making me daydream about the snowy Christmases from when I was little girl. Although there is no snow here in South Florida – crafty projects like this remind me of winter in Poland and the landscapes covered with white and shiny snow.

I also used some fabrics from the Tapestry collection by Sharon Holland because I wanted to use the "Catalyst Odyssey" cat print. This project has a special meaning for me, because while I was driving from the craft store there was a tiny black cat running through the highway. I turned around to save him, but there was nothing I could do. :( So in memory of the little kitty, I featured the cat fabric throughout the project. I'm dedicating the project to the little cat and I truly believe he is happy now, in cat heaven. <3<3<3

Once making the project I was reading the sentences on one of the prints from the Blithe collection, and I believe that "Nature never breaks her own laws" and since we are part of nature the whole accident had to happen that day. So although the story is sad I am fullfield with hope that everything that happens has it's deep purpose.

Wishing you tons of creativity during this Holiday Season!

Helo Barbara, you are welcome! For my size of the cone which is 13 inch high I used around 20 inch of fabric:)

How do you attach the star on top?

Hi Sheryl! To attach the star on top, you simply pin it to the top of the cone. To hide the pin, you can glue two stars together, sandwiching the pin.
Hope that answers your question, happy sewing!
