Color Master of the Month: Emerald Stone

Emerald stone mood board

2019 is here!! Who’s ready for a new start? I’d say looking back, 2018 was a good year for me, filled with fun memories and fun trips with friends. I also got more into sewing home decor, and making handmade gifts! Now that it’s a new start with a new year, I’m kicking off 2019 with my favorite color: Emerald Green. If you know me, you’d say I have a small obsession with the color because my room walls are painted green and even my office desk is filled with green accessories (mugs, coasters, mouse pad and pens!) I guess you can say I’m a little excited to start the year with January’s Color Master in “Emerald Stone!” This bundle is filled with green jewel tones and a mood board that represents what this color is all about: “growth, renewal, and prosperity.”

With this wide variety of tones, take your fabric projects to the next level! All you need is one bundle to make a project that's perfect for the month, and you can get it in two sizes: Fat Quarters or Half yards.

Here are some projects from the lookbooks that you can make with our “Color Master” fabrics!

Sewing inspo

Fabric Bin #1: Featuring the print “Trailing Agave”, this fabric bin is great to organize your fabric scraps, misplaced threads, or even use them as your current project bag. A place to have all your necessities for your current project in one place. Finished sizes, Small bin: 12 ½" x 5", Medium bin: 14" x 6" & Large bin: 16 ½" x 8".

Plenum Quilt #2: Using the entire "Color Master" to create this gorgeous, green quilt! An explosion of color using our signature quality cotton, combined with an original and unique project. If you’re interested in only making the Plenum Quilt with the box, then check out our Plenum Kit, which includes a 10-piece bundle (FQ or HY sizes), two additional fabrics for background, accents, and easy-to-follow instructions.

Joyful Striped Pillow #3: A beginner-friendly and Fat Quarter friendly pillow! What more can you ask for? Featuring the print  “To Live by Joyful,” you can add some fun red or white fabrics strips to make a fun festive pillow. Finished size: 16" × 16"

This “Color Master” bundle can give you the option of using just one print or several to compliment any of your sewings designs. Although this bundle highlights the color green, each print has distinct hues that make it easy to pair with other projects. For example, the print called Moment in Time Light”  (Print shown below, circled in red) has orange florals, light pinks, and yellows that can help piece together other fabrics with a matching color palette.

I haven’t posted any pictures of it yet but I just started working yesterday on a year long #modernHSTbom on Instagram using this HY box plus the winter wheat and gold FQ boxes. It’ll be December before it’s done but I’m excited for the gorgeous greens – a favourite colour of mine too.
