Isn’t it crazy how we’re already approaching the final months of the year?! It’s like it happened in a blink of an eye! Before the year ends, we have to give you our monthly dose of color with the ColorFun bundle. For November, we’re all about fall vibes so we chose rustic orange as the color of November.

Although, fall technically doesn’t exist in Florida this warm bundle reminds us of beautiful reddish-orange leaves, pumpkin patches under the sunset, and of course Thanksgiving. To get you thinking about this cozy shade of orange, here’s an inspirational mood board.

You’re probably thinking “This color is beautiful, but how do I match it with other colors?”. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. In reality, rustic orange is a really versatile color that can be combined with neutrals, jewel toned hues, and if you’re adventurous enough, some bright colors. Now, for the fun stuff… let’s see how you can incorporate rustic orange in your sewing.

Rustic orange in quilting:

This cozy color is great for quilts, table runners, and all kinds of quilty fall projects. Or for a quick decorative project, you can make a few quilt blocks and hang them like the one above. We used the “Grazing Sienna” print along with other prints from Bountiful fabrics by Sharon Holland and AGF denim. Don’t you think your house would look pretty with this hue?

Rustic orange in accessories:

We all know that accessories like zipper pouches are fun projects for sewists of all levels, especially when you get to use pretty fabrics. Check out how we used the “Adventure Bark” print from Hello Bear fabrics by Bonnie Christine to make this adorable bear bag.

Rustic orange in fashion:

Last but not least, this warm color is great to incorporate in your wardrobe. It’s ideal for fall, works great with neutrals, and is appealing on all skin tones.
